BHUBANESWAR: “The State Government failed to address the issues of the SC, ST, OBC and minorities living in the State,” alleged the members of Koumi Ekta Manch (KEM) here on Friday. Protesting anti-SC/ST and anti-minority attitude of the Government, the Manch would stage a rally and demonstration in front of the State Assembly here on September 25, said the members of the KEM.
KEM
chief convener Shaikh Abdul Wali said the dalits, adivasis and other backward
caste people are living in miserable condition and atrocities against them is
increasing day by day. On the other hand, minorities failed to air their voices
before the Government as they don’t have any people’s representatives in the State
Assembly from their community. Even they don’t have any Zilla Parishad chairman
or block chairman in the State, he added.
Joint convener Shaikh Javed Ilahi
said the Government is yet to set up Wakf board and Madrasa for the Muslim community
living in the State. The BJD Government is anti-Muslim, he added.
Protesting the apathy towards the
SC, ST, OBC and minorities group in the State, thousands of KEM member would
stage a massive rally and demonstration here on September 25. “If the
Government fails to fulfill our demands, we would give appropriate answer to
the BJD Government in the coming election,” said Javed.
Among others, Prafulla Kumar
Nayak from ST, Sukant Bhoi from SC, Amiya Pandab from OBC and Riyazuddin Khan
from Muslim minority and Subek Pradhan from Christian minority were present at
