Price hike heat: City bus fare increased


BHUBANESWAR: Authorities of the Dream Team Sahara (DTS) bus service, who operate the city buses, decided to increase bus fare after the hike in diesel price. The fare hike to come into effect from Saturday, DTS officials said after the meeting on increasing of the city bus fare.  

According to the decision of the DTS officials, now the passengers have to pay Rs 5 in the place of Rs 4 for destinations within 0-3 km, Rs 7 for the distance of 3-6 km range, Rs 8 for the distance of 6-9 km and Rs 9 for 9-12 km distance.

As the price of diesel hiked, the city bus fare was also increased, said the DTS officials. Prior to this, the city bus fare was hiked Rs 1 in fare for destinations within 0-12 km, Rs 2 in between 12-15, 15-18 and 18-21 km and Rs 5 for more than 30 km distance.
