Though the State has ceiling surplus land, Patita kisam land and Bhoodan land, the Government failed to distribute that among the poor landless families of the State, said the activists and demanded the State to take appropriate step to distribute the surplus land among the needy.

The activists including Ekta Parishad Odisha convener Kanhu Mohanty, Sishir Tripathy of Omapan, Lokmukti Sangathan Anant Panda, Tribal Organisation Network Theophyl Gamango demanded that the Government to distribute the forest land among the traditional forest dwellers. “If the Government fails to fulfill their demands, they will take the issue to the streets,” said the activists.
