Maoists kill two in M’giri suspecting police informer



MALKANGIRI: Maoists of Kalimela area committee killed two villagers of Malkangiri district suspecting them as police informer, police said on Monday. The deceased were identified as Ramesh Kabati of Bapanbhali village and Naresh Dhali of MV-25 village in the district.

Around fifty of armed ultras took away the two from their homes on Sunday night and killed them at Vejingiwada village Chhak under Kalimela police limits by slitting their throats. The incident happened near the BSF camp in the area, sources said.

They left a Maoist poster near the spot where they claimed that they killed the duo for supplying information to the BSF personnel about the movement of ultras in the village area. They killed the duo according to the decision of their kangaroo court, the poster said.

Notably, nine people were killed by the Maoists during last three months in the district though hundreds of security personnel were deployed in the area. The last incident happened on April 22 where the ultras killed two persons suspecting them as police informers.

After the incident, the police have initiated investigation into the matter. The security forces have launched combing operation in the area.
