BHUBANESWAR: Health Minister Dr
Damodar Rout ordered a high level inquiry into death of nine kids in the VSS
Medical College and Hospital at Burla in Sambalpur district, said Health
secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra in a Press release here on Saturday.
The State Government asked director
of medical education and training (DMET) Dr Sunamali Bag and director of
Sishubhawan (paediatric hospital at Cuttack) Dr Niranjan Parida to probe the
matter after visiting the hospital. They were asked to submit a report
regarding cause and prevention of the death of the kids, said Mohapatra.
It may be noted that nine
children admitted in sick neonatal intensive care unit (SNCU) in the VSS
Medical College and Hospital died on Thursday and Friday.
