BHUBANESWAR: Two accused were
arrested by the Mahila police in connection with the raping a city girl at a
lonely location on the outskirts of the city on July 18 night. The
duo was arrested from the Khandapada area of Nayagarh district on the wee hours
of Tuesday.
The two were identified as Ranjan
Sethy (28) of Gaudapatna and Bikash Sethy (26) alias Bikali of Barapalli village
under Khandapada police station in Nayagarh district. The duo was absconding
since July 18.
The girl, who is staying with her
family at OMC colony of Unit-8 area
in the city, had lodged a complaint with the Mahila police station on Friday after
she was rescued by the Chandaka police. The main accused Jitendra Biswal was
arrested by the Mahila Police on the same day.
Notably, the girl knew Biswal
through social networking site Facebook. On July 18, the mastermind called the
girl over phone to meet him at the Patia Big Bazaar mall for shopping and
lunch. After the lunch, he along with the girl went in a long drive, but the
girl didn’t know that the other two, including the driver, would join with them
and outrage her modesty in the vehicle.
