BRAHMAPUR: Taking the aspiration of fulfilling the communication objectives for students, Student’s Empire, the first monthly English tabloid newspaper from Brahmapur was launched here on Sunday. The published monthly tabloid contained successful stories of students, developmental issues and also related stories on youth and technology.
Giving a description over the importance of student’s news media in the present day context, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Berhampur University Dr Pradeep Mahapatra said that these kinds of newspapers and magazines will not only increase the student’s participation in a democracy with promoting plurality among the students but it also a medium that projects the strategic activities of the students.
Limiting the target audience for a particular age group with a thought full business strategy and publishing stories that give insight to the students, newspapers and magazines made for a special audience can work well in a democracy, added Dr Mahapatra.
In the launching ceremony, Head of the Department of Women’s Study Center of Berhampur University Ratna Sahu said the magazine will inspire the student mass to participate in the development process of the nation. The publisher and editor of the tabloid N Lenachand read the editorial content, whereas students from various colleges were present in the meeting.
