White tiger Jagat dies in Nandankanan

BARANGA: Cancer affected white tiger Jagat died at the age of 13 year and 4 month old on Monday morning at Nandankanan Zoo. He was living in 32 number enclosure of the Zoo.

According to the Zoo officials, Jagat was feeling ill after a tumor developed in his throat. They had started his treatment, but later the doctors and health committee denied for surgery as it was not possible at that time. When the doctors knew that the tiger had cancer, they started giving life saving injections and medicines, according to the health committee.

It may be noted that five tigers and one lion had already died recently. Only six male and three female white tigers left in the Zoo out of total 25 tigers.
