Farmers to get Rs 675 crore as cross loss compensation

BHUBANESWAR: The farmers of the State would get Rs 675 crore 32 lakh as crop loss compensation under the National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (Rashtriya Krishi Bima Yojna). The State Government has also sanctioned Rs 277 crore 72 lakh as their share. Due to the Crop Insurance Scheme, 5, 71,000 farmers of the State, who were affected during the flood last year, would be benefited. It may be noted that the State Government has taken the Gram Panchayats as crop insurance unit which will help the farmers to get good amount of compensation money.
