Minister ignores tinted film rule

BHUBANESWAR: Forest and Environment Minister Devi Prasad Mishra on Sunday was one among traffic rule violators whom the traffic police officials left without wiping out the tinted film from the car. While the traffic police officials said the tinted film in the Minister’s car is acceptable.

During the awareness drive to remove tinted film glasses, the traffic police were wiping out the dark films from the cars of the violators of tinted film rule at different traffic posts in the city on Sunday. During the checking, the Minister’s car was also caught by the police at the Redcross Bhavan square, but left him without removing the tinted glass.

The people who were present at the place, where the police checked Minister’s car, questioned that there is no other rule for the VVIPs, but why the police didn’t peel off the tinted film. Recently, DCP Nitinjeet Singh had told the media people that they would not exempt any VIPs or VVIPs during enforcement.

On the other hand, traffic DCP Nirmal Satapathy said the Minister promised to wipe out the tinted film very soon. “The tinted film used in the Minister’s car is acceptable,” said traffic DCP Satapathy to The Pioneer.

He also informed that the awareness drive would continue for another five to six days and after that the violators would be charged fine Rs 500 by the traffic police.
