Woman dies under suspicious circumstances in city

BHUBANESWAR: A newly married woman died under suspicious circumstances in her parental house here on Sunday. Police have recovered a letter near the body of the woman written by herself for which the police suspected it might be a suicide case. A complaint has been lodged in the Mahila police station regarding the case here on Sunday.

The woman was identified as Pranita Patra of Chintamanisar area in the city. When the police entered the house, they found Patra was hanging from a ceiling and she was dead. A letter recovered by the police from the body of the woman said that she was tortured by the people of her father-in-law house. In her letter, it was found that her husband had extra marital affair with some other woman.

On the other hand, the father-in-law of deceased Patra denied the allegation of torture to their daughter-in-law. They had very good relation with each other, the father-in-law of the deceased said.
