BHUBANESWAR: To highlight various
problems faced by traders and to protest anti-trader policies of the Congress-led
Central Government, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Odisha Traders’ Cell would stage
demonstration in front of the Raj Bhavan here on August 21. The protest is part
of the nation-wide campaign being undertaken by the BJP Traders’ Cell.
The BJP leaders alleged that the
Congress-led Central Government, which harassing the trader community, has been
doing nothing for welfare of the community. At this time, they said, when
prices of goods are sky-rocketing, traders are barely able to manage their
businesses, the Central Government wanted to ruin them by allowing Foreign
Direct Investment in the retail sector.
A delegation comprising of State
President Jual Oram and State Convener of the Trader’s Cell Umesh Khandelwal
would hand over a Memorandum addressed to the President of India to the Odisha Governor
following the rally in front of the Raj Bhawan.
