Setting up of Minority Commission in State demanded


BHUBANESWAR: Minority cell of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday here alleged that the State Government failed to address the problems of the minorities living in the State. In a State-level meeting of district presidents of the Minority Department of the PCC, it’s State president Sk Abdul Bari demanded that the State Government should set up a Minority Commission in the State to sort out the problems of the minorities living in the State.

Bari said that the State Government failed to implement the Prime Minister’s fifteen-point programme for the development of the minorities in the State. The district presidents demanded that the Government to appoint Urdu teachers in the respective schools. The district presidents were told to stage dharnas in front of all the District Magistrate’s offices raising the said demands. PCC president Niranjan Patnaik was present in the State-level meeting.
