CPM to oppose Industrial Security Force Bill


BHUBANESWAR: Members of the State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) here on Wednesday strongly opposed the Industrial Security Force Bill which was passed recently by the State Government for establishment of a specialised force to protect industrial units.

Briefing the Press here, State Committee secretary of the party Janardan Pati said the law is a draconian law which would be a weapon in the hands of foreign and national industrialists to take law into their hands. The party would organise all democratic forces and trade unions to oppose the proposed act, he added.

On the issue of Nalco disinvestment, Pati said, the party would organise largest united protest. The party would also organise protest meetings across the State on October 30 against the continuance atrocity on women, he informed.

The members said the party would mobilise the people to implement the universal Public Distribution System so that every family members living in the country could get 35 kg of rice or wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg. “It must be noted that India is the second country in the world next to Sudan where the prices of food grain has gone up. In such situations, in order to feed the millions of poor people, party will organise campaigns across the country,” Pati said.
