BHUBANESWAR: The day one of Gramotsava-2012, a rural marketing fair, kicked off to a great start with sheer enthusiasm from the rural management students of XIMB. The fair took place in Tangi of Cuttack district with seven stalls buzzing with activity. Companies like Hero MotoCorp Limited, Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Onergy, Everest Industries Ltd, Massey Ferguson tractor and others opened their stalls to attract the attention of rural folk in the fair.
The stall set up by Hero MotoCorp
caught the attention of people with their products like Hero Ignitor and
Maestro. A loan-cum-exchange mela was also organised by the company. In
addition to this, a free service camp was also organised.
The stall for Tractors and Farm
Equipments Limited (TAFE) was well decorated which was one of the major crowd
pullers. They kept the crowd involved with a host of activities and games. The
TAFE team put up a brilliant job with the operation of the Massey Ferguson 1035
tractor, its specifications and features.
Onergy, a leading renewable
energy enterprise which provides decentralised energy solutions to rural
households, gave the chance to people to understand about the various options
of renewable energy sources available like lamps, lanterns and LED lights via
their product display. IFFCO also set up its stall in order to create awareness
among prospective customers through free of cost soil sample analysis brought
by the farmers, brochures and pamphlets.
The Social Responsibility cell of
XIMB also set up a stall in Gramotsava-2012 where they entertained the crowd
with a variety of games like ‘The Wheel of Fortune’. The second day of Gramotsava-2012
will be held at Begunia in Khurda district.
