BHUBANESWAR:
Members of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology Students’ Union (BSU) on
Friday demanded CBI inquiry into the activities of OJEE in the State. Demanding
reforms in the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), more than hundred
of engineering students of different colleges under the university across the
State led by BSU staged a ‘Need for Change’ rally here.

Mohanty said thousands of students under BPUT have been debarred of their right
full claims due to the gross negligence and illegal and corrupt practices and
many times intentionally designed to benefit the ill intention of the corrupt.
Whole system has collapsed and full of scams, he added.
Later, BSU handed over a detailed
10-point chattered of demands to Minister of Employment and Technical Education
and Training Pratap Keshari Dev and urged special attention towards their
demands. Besides CBI inquiry into OJEE, the BSU members demanded before the
Government that the BPUT services to be included in the proposed Public
Services Guarantee Act.
In their memorandum, the members
demanded amendment to Odisha Professional Educational Institution Act 2007,
amendment to BPUT Act-2002, hostel for outstation candidates and special
financial audit in BPUT. The members also demanded the Government to direct the
BPUT to conduct examination and publication of results in time.
