BHUBANESWAR:
The Odisha State Committee of Samajwadi Party observed the 110th birth
anniversary of Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan here on Thursday. The members of
the party paid floral tribute to the great patriot at Master canteen square
here.

Behera said the people of our country are passing through a difficult situation
like that of 1974. Corruption, crminalisation, black money, price hike,
unemployment and plight of farmers have stifled our democracy which is now
thrown to market forces for loot, he said, adding, “FDI in retail would bring
disaster to the poor and farmers which should be fought tooth and nail on the
ideals Lok Nayak.”
A memorial meeting was also organised
by the party to pay respect to Baji Rout on his 74th death anniversary here at
their party office. Behera wrote a letter to the Chief Minister urging upon him
to install a statue of Baji Rout in the capital city which would inspire our
future generation. Among others, party leaders Sudarshan Pradhan, Surendra
Bhanj, Bijoy Behera, Debasis Mishra were present.
