BHUBANESWAR: Demanding security in the campus, the students of Utkal University staged a dharna in front of the main gate of the university campus here on Friday. They also demanded before the police to arrest the assailants of the attack on hostel students on Tuesday night.
More than hundred of students of
the university came in a procession by flaunting placards and staged dharna in
front of the university main gate. They all demanded 24 hours PCR van patrolling
inside the campus and deployment of 12 police constables along with two
Sub-Inspectors, including a woman police, in the campus police outpost.
Later, the students called off
the dharna when two senior police officials came and assured them for the
fulfillment of their demand.
