Maoists stop Pallisabha proceedings in Malkangiri

BHUBANESWAR: The Maoists on Monday stopped the proceedings of Pallisabha at Patakonda village of Kangurukonda panchayat under Kalimela block in Malkangiri district when the block officers were discussing on different problems with the village people in the meeting.
A group consisted of 20 to 30 Maoists came to the meeting place and asked the block officers to stop the proceeding. They even took away three block officials and asked them about the purpose of the Pallisabha. Later, the Maoists distributed their posters and hung out some Maoist banners at the place where the block officials were conducting Pallisabha.

“The Maoists came to us and distributed some posters at the meeting place. When we opened the cover of the poster, we found some instructions to stop Pallisabha proceedings. When they asked to stop the proceedings, we agreed and left the place,” said a block officer.
