Shah commission’s inquiry continuing in slow pace

BHUBANESWAR: The inquiry process is getting delay due to complexity in different files as half of the investigation time period has already passed. If the inquiry does not end before October 11, the commission would take more time to finish the process or the commission would visit the State again, sources said.

According to Shah Commission team leader UV Singh, the inquiry process takes time due to some completed cases which are reviewed by their team.

The team is busy in reviewing the mine related files from October 4. The Shah Commission team has reviewed only 32 files out of the total 142 files, said Director of Mines of Odisha Government Deepak Mohanty. Only four days left for the review of the rest 110 files. If it continues at the same rate, the file review would not be completed within the stipulated time, sources said.
