Two persons allegedly abducted in Paradip



PARADIP: Two persons, who used to collect fish and crabs from the Mahanadi river mouth, were abducted at gun point by some miscreants from Nehru Bungalow beach here on Sunday night. The miscreants demanded Rs 4 lakh as ransom money, sources said.
According to the sources, Ratnakar Dalai and Prabhat Tarai are daily labourers living at Paradip Garh village under Paradip police station in Jagatsinghpur district. Some miscreants came in a Bolero car and frisked the duo while they were busy in catching fishes and crabs in the night at the river mouth.

The unidentified miscreants came to the spot and frisked them into the vehicle at gun point and fled away from the spot. The matter came to the notice of locals when a person, who was present there during the time of kidnapping, told the local residents about the incident. 

On the wee hours of Monday, Prabhat narrated the incident to his wife over mobile phone of the kidnappers. Prabhat’s wife lodged a complaint with Paradip police station after getting information from her husband. The Paradip police are investigating into the matter after tracking the mobile number of the accused. The police are yet to arrest the kidnappers.
