BHUBANESWAR: After arresting three kidnappers for rape attempt to an MBA student inside a moving vehicle, the police sent them to jail on Tuesday. While, the Commissionerate police gave details about the incident and the kidnappers, among them two were engineers. The police have booked the trio under several sections of the IPC and CrPC and charges included kidnapping and attempt to rape.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Nitinjeet Singh, the main accused Sagar Biswal and his friend Pavitra Behera were engineers by profession and the third accused Sunil was the driver of the vehicle. They attempted to rape the girl in broad-day light, informed DCP Singh.
DCP Singh also said that the main accused Sagar had engineered the plot of a fake interview in the office of a company located in Fortune Tower in the State capital. According to the police, Sagar was working in the company of the girl’s brother at Cuttack and he knows her in that way. The girl was abducted from a place near Fortune Tower on Monday.
Such instances however have been taking place in Bhubaneswar at regular intervals. Last year a girl was allegedly kidnapped from Master Canteen locality and raped. Recently another girl was allegedly kidnapped from Salia Sahi and raped.
