OHRC directs Puri SP to submit report on Pipli rape case

BHUBANESWAR: System goes in his way and law follows it silently, but humanity is above all the systems and laws which is lacking sometimes in the society like in the incident of Pipli mass rape. Victim of the incident was in coma, she could not spell out what she wanted to tell. Family members of the victim went to police station, but they denied by saying lack of evidence. Due to lack of money family members brought her out from Cuttack SCB Medical Hospital. When media persons entered her house, family members cried out and said the apathy and inhumane behave of Government officials. At the end they decided to sit on dharna in front of the office of Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) here on Monday.

Finally OHRC wanted to help her out and directed the Superintendent of Police of Puri to give report on the Pipli incident within three days. It was seen that the family members of the victims opposed the police to enter to the house of the victim. They alleged the police had not taken any action on this matter though the incident happened on November 28 last year.

After the intervention of Human Rights Commission, medical treatment of the victim has been started at Capital Hospital and the inquiry into the matter has also been started. “We have already started treatment of the girl. Our specialists of medicine, surgery, gynec and neurosurgeon are looking into the medical case. We are trying our best,” said Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr SN Swain.
