Shocking revelation of ‘cash for question’ in ‘Sach ka Saamna’

BHUBANESWAR: Have you bribed a sitting MLA to raise a question during an Orissa Assembly session? Did you allow your name to be used for booking rooms in government guest houses for local politicians? These questions are not from a journalist to any mafia or political allies, but the questions were asked by Rajeev Khandelwal to an Odia youth Subhranshu Dash in a reality show ‘Sach ka Saamna’ aired by a private Television channel, where the Odia boy said ‘yes’ to these controversial questions and this contentious confession has created flutters in political circle in the State.

The polygraph test also showed ‘true’ sign in its result screen, which added an extra mile to the confession of the participant. Twenty-year-old Dash, from the State capital, once bribed an MLA to raise a question regarding a transfer matter of his relative. But speaker of Odisha Assembly Pradeep Amat has given a different view regarding this ‘cash for question’ matter. Amat said that within his two and a half year tenure he has never heard about such incident. He expressed full confidence on the members of house.

Besides the ‘cash for question’ Subhransu also asked about allowing his name for booking of Government guest houses for local politicians, where he had given right answer with ‘yes’. He walked away with Rs 2 lakh from the TV show. According to some political analyst, this shocking revelation may create political hullabaloo in the State. On the other hand, the identity of the MLA is yet unknown.
