Coal-loaded train catches fire, no casualties


BHUBANESWAR: After a recent blaze in a coach of Rajdhani Express here earlier and a passenger boarded Chennai-Howrah Coromandel Express on January 13, again a fire accident occurred in the city railway station here on Friday. This time, fire broke out in the coal-laden goods train, where three wagons were affected. No casualty was reported in the incident.

Around 6.30 am, the goods train caught fire before the railway station at Kalpana Chhack over bridge. The fire station officials reached immediately and tried to capture the fire but it took one hour to stop fire broke out due to high-voltage electricity connection. Though the railway officials could not ascertain the exact cause of the fire, yet the officials suspected that electricity shot circuit might be the reason of fire broke out.
