Elephants trample forest Dept driver


SUNDERGARH: In a tragic incident, a herd of pachyderms trampled a forest department driver Ganesh Hota of Subdega forest range in the district, while they were busy to drive away the wild elephants from the paddy fields of the area on Wednesday.

A herd of twenty elephants had entered to the birtola village under Subdega forest range on Tuesday. After getting information from the villagers, forest officials were rushed to the village area to drive away the wild jumbos. At the time of driving away the jumbos, one of the jumbos trampled the driver and another officer ran away from the site. Driver Ganesh died on the spot.
