BHUBANESWAR: According to the FIR registered at Chandrasekharpur police station, a second year Diploma student of a private engineering college in the city was allegedly kidnapped by some ruffians and the kidnappers are reportedly asking huge amount of money to release him.
Father of the student is a mines businessman at Jajpur. When the student went to Ranchi to attend the birthday of his girl friend, he did not return from there and after that he was kidnapped. Family members of the student had received a phone call from the kidnappers where they were asking money for releasing the boy.
Police knew that the student was staying with the girl at Kolkata. When the girl was in Bhubaneswar, the police had started investigation into the matter. The police found that within 15 days, Rs 5 lakh has been deducted from the students account. The Commissionerate police have started investigation taking the mobile calls of the student.
