Absconding BJD ZP contestant arrested

BRAHMAPUR: Absconding Biju Janata Dal leader Loknath Dalai, who is contesting for zilla parishad member from Ganjam's Rangeilunda block zone 53, was arrested by a team of police officials from Golanthara, Gosaninuagaon and Brahmapur from Haladiapadar NH-5 here on Thursday.

It may be noted that Loknath was booked in a dacoity case in December 3, 2010 based on the FIR lodged by Manu Nahak of Konisi. He was absconding from last year and he did not surrender before the court. Later, the NBW was issued by sub-divisional judicial magistrate of Brahmapur in December last year.

The opposition party leaders like BJP and its Yuva Morcha have raised voice against the BJD leader about his filing of nomination, though he was absconding and NBW was issued in his name. How he got permission to contest with the cases against him, said Bharatiya Janata Yuba Morcha (BJYM) president Bibhuti Jena. It is nothing but criminalisation of politics, he added.
