SCW’s report is an attempt to bailout Govt: OGS

BHUBANESWAR: “The distorted report by State Commission for Women (SCW) on Pipili gang-rape case is an attempt to bailout the Government,” said the convener of Odisha Gana Samaj (OGS) Rabi Das opposing the report at a Press meet here on Tuesday.

Members of the OGS condemned the report which was not based on proper investigation and also demanded CBI inquiry into the Chandanpur murder case after Pipili gang-rape case. The OGS also said the statement by Central Range DIG DS Kutte, who had opened the Chandanpur case afresh and started a thorough probe, at a Press meet about the case was misguiding. The statement by DIG Kutte and the report of SCW chairperson was only to give clean chit to the Government and police department, the OGS said.

Another convener of OGS Prashant Patnaik said that they would stage a massive dharna in front of the Rajbhavan on February 18 demanding the CBI inquiry into the Chandanpur and Pipili case along with the suspension of SCW chairperson and disciplinary action against DIG Kutte for his statement. They will gherao SP office at Puri on Wedneday to show dissatisfaction on police action in the case of Chandanpur minor girl murder incident, he added.
