BHUBANESWAR: More than hundred of enthusiastic
school children on Friday were all waiting to watch films based on them at the
Rabindra Mandap in the city. After few minutes of their waiting, Anjali Children’s
Film Festival-Biscope organised by a city-based organisation Swabhiman was
inaugurated by Odia film actor Ashrumochan Mohanty.
The guests of the inaugural
function recollected their childhood memories before the children by telling
their early days in the villages. They also motivated the children with their
sweet and valuable words to learn from nature in a humane way.
After the formal inauguration of
the festival, one film picturised on persons with disabilities was screened.
Later, the festival’s first children film ‘Baaja’ was screened. The film, directed
by renowned Odia film director AK Bir, was based on children psychology. The
festival would continue till November 14.
On Saturday, the film ‘I Am
Kalam’ would be screened in the festival. The director of the film an
internationally acclaimed film personality Nilamadhab Panda would be present
and interact with the children on the day.
The other films including ‘Heda
Hoda’ directed by Vinod Ganatra, ‘Wrong Mauritius’ by Raghuvir Kulkarni and ‘Sixer’
by Gul Bahar Singh would be screened during the film festival, informed
Swabhiman chairperson Dr Sruti Mohapatra.
