Man shot dead at home

BRAHMAPUR: Some unidentified miscreants gunned down a 35-year-old man at his residence here on Monday, police said. The deceased was identified as B Rameya, a trader, who was living with his family at Shanti Nagar area under Badabazar police station limits in the city.

According to the police, the miscreants shot at him as soon as the deceased opened the door after hearing a knock. His wife and children were asleep inside the house when the incident took place.

He was rushed to the MKCG Medical College here after the incident, but the doctors declared him brought dead. Police are in dark about the culprits and the reason behind the brutal incident yet to come up.

“We are investigating into the matter. The accused will be nabbed very soon,” said Brahmapur SP Prateek Mohanty.
