BHUBANESWAR: On the second day of
Anjali Children’s Film Festival-Biscope organised by city-based organisation
Swabhiman, more than five hundred school kids on Saturday enjoyed the
internationally acclaimed movie ‘I Am Kalam’ directed by celebrated film
personality Nilamadhaba Panda based on children at the Rabindra Mandap here.
Gracing the occasion, State
School and Mass Education secretary
Usha Padhi inspired the students with her valuable words and said that her
department would try to demonstrate I Am Kalam movie at the school level to
inspire the school kids.

addressed the school kids and advised the students to think big to become big.
He quoted former president APJ Abdul Kalam’s saying, “You have to dream before
your dreams can come true.”
Following the formal discussion,
Panda’s film was screened. ‘I Am Kalam’, a rev reviewed and national film award
wining film, was based on a strong story line regarding child education. The
director has filmed the emotion and enthusiasm of the child Kalam (Harsh Mayer)
who wants to read in a school like other school goers. He doesn’t want to work
in a roadside dhaba and keeps interest in learning new things. Finally, he got
chance to enter into the school.
Following the end of the film,
Panda interacted with the children about various dimensions of his film. He
answered all the questions of the school kids one by one. He informed that his
team is working in a film project that would come up in January.
The festival will continue till
November 14. The other films including Heda Hoda directed by Vinod Ganatra,
Wrong Mauritius by Raghuvir Kulkarni and Sixer by Gul Bahar Singh are scheduled
for exhibition during the festival, informed Swabhiman chief executive Dr Sruti
Mohapatra.
