BHUBANESWAR: Odisha again rejoiced with the success of an Odia boy in a national-level reality show India’s Got Talent season-4 that recollected the memory of Brahmapur’s Prince Dance Group’s title wining performance on the television’s first season in 2009.
Odia boy Maraju Sumanth (13) and
his 7-year old Bengali partner Sonali Majumdar won the title of reality show
India’s Got Talent season-4 on Saturday night defeating singer Deepraj from
Gangtok and Jharkhand’s trapeze artistes Mukesh and Tanya.
Sumanth after listening their name
in the top list declared by superstar Shahrukh Khan, he said, “We dedicate this
award to our instructor Bivash Chowdhary.” ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ heroines Katrina
Kaif and Anushka Sharma along with hero Shahrukh presented the trophy to the duo.
Sumanth and Sonali were also awarded with the prize money of Rs 50 lakh and a
Maruti Alto for winning the title.
The little salsa dancers were
representing Bibhash Academy of Dance of Kolkata. Sonali hails from a slum in
Kolkata. Sumanth is now studying in class-IX at Mancheswsar Kendriya Vidyalaya,
here. He is the eldest son of M Radha and railway employee M Jagadiswar Rao.
