KONARK: In an unfortunate
incident, a woman allegedly committed suicide after administering poison to her
two children near her village orchard, 40 km from here, in Puri district on
Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Nirupama
Bharati (38) and her two children Raja (7) and Kandhei (10) of Brahmanapada
village under Nimapara police station in the district, the police said. After
getting information from the village people, the police rushed to the spot and recovered
the bodies of Nirupama and her children from the orchard. The police seized the
poison bottle from the spot.
The actual reason of the suicide
yet to come up, said Nimapada IIC Premananda Lenka, adding, “We have sent the
bodies to Puri district hospital for autopsy. After the autopsy report and findings
out of our investigation, the reason will come up.”
According to sources, Nirupama
was the second wife to a theatre worker Rajkishore Bharati (44) of Brahmanapada
village. He got married to Nirupama of Panchupalli village in Jagatsinghpur
district following the death of his first wife in snake bite a few years ago. The
family members of Rajkishore didn’t accept Nirupama as they had love marriage.
Therefore he was living at Mathasahi near his village, said the sources.
