BPUT students’ body demands 24-hr helpline



BHUBANESWAR: Members of the All Odisha Biju Patnaik University of Technology Student’s Association (AOBPUTSA) have organised a rally here demanding 50 per cent reservation of technical posts in all the industrial houses invested in the State and a 24-hour helpline facility for the BPUT students to respond their queries.

Association’s governing body chairman Adyapran Subudhi said they would take it to the street if the Government fails to look after the interest of the BPUT students. They demanded action against the college officials for collecting excess fees from the students.

The members also demanded the Government to bring back the BPUT camp office to the capital city again as most of the engineering colleges is situated in the city and its vicinity. “If the Government doesn’t fulfill our demands, we would sit in hunger strike in front of the Minister’s residence,” said Association’s convener Biplab Prasad Mohanty.  

Among others, newly elected members for 2012-13 session Arun Agarwal, Nirmal Mohapatra, Jagannath Kanungo, Jagamohan Baliarsngh, Abhisekh Acharya, Partha Das, Saroj Mohapatra, Biplab Panda, Arabinda Pradhan, Sambit Priya and Rajesh Bag took the lead of the rally.
