PHULBANI: Additional Sessions Judge Biranchi Narayan Mishra of Fast Track Court-II convicted 12 accused persons in connection with a house burning case during Kandhamal riot in 2008. The court also acquitted 10 accused persons in connection with the case due to lack of evidence against them.

village under Raikia police station had lodged complaint against the accused
persons for burning his house during riot on August 25, 2008. On the basis of his complaint, the police
had started inquiry after registering a case. The judge sentenced six years
imprisonment with Rs 5000 fine in default one year more imprisonment.
