If Sabyasachi returns to mainstream, no need of police ops: DGP



BHUBANESWAR: “If Sabyasachi Panda gives indication to return to mainstream, no need of operations,” said Director General of Police Prakash Mishra here to the mediapersons following the discussion in between him and civil society members on Monday. Mishra along with the civil society members appealed the Maoist leader to return to mainstream.

The civil society members including freedom fighter Bhabani Patnaik, Prof Radhamohan, senior journalist Rabi Das and Human Rights Front president Manoj Jena met DGP in his camp office here regarding the returning of Maoist leader Panda to the mainstream.

Following the discussion, the DGP said that he had appealed Panda to live a normal life      prior to the Bhaliagada encounter. “If he wants to return to the mainstream society, no obstacle would block his road. He can return to the society safely,” said Mishra.

On the other hand, the joint forces have sealed the border areas and intensified the combing operation in the tri-junction area of Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal district. Pawanhans helicopter has been used to help the forces during search operation to nab the dreaded Maoists.
