AIDYO begins women security campaign in Cuttack



CUTTACK: The All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) started a 15-day campaign in the millennium city on Tuesday demanding security for women in the society. The members of the organisation would sensitise the people to protest all type of violence against women.

The AIDYO members demanded the Union Government to take stringent action against rapists and appropriate action against the police for neglecting in duty. They also suggested moral education in school, banning of vulgar content in all forms of media, restriction on liquor sale and self-defence education for girls in school to tackle the violence against women.   

The campaign was inaugurated by Gandhian leader Sobhakar Swain in the city. Among others, social activist Akshaya Das, AIDYO Cuttack city president Sasmita Mohanty, secretary Deepak Das, organiser Pratap Mishra and Binay Sahu.
