Bhimakund ghat shrine in Keonjhar cries for attention

--Hundreds of devotees take holy dip in Bhimkund

ANANDPUR: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, hundreds of devotees took holy dip in Bhimkund ghat at Balijodi village under Patna block in Keonjhar district on Monday. After the dip, the devotees worshipped god Santiswar Mahadev and participated in the cultural function which was organised by the temple committee.

Priest of the shrine Baba Gurudev and Santiswar Mahadev temple committee president Bharat Charan Mahant alleged that the district administration is not taking appropriate steps for the development of the shrine. Thousands of devotees take holy dip every year on the occasion of Makar and tourists came there in search of natural beauty of the spot, but the administration has not taken any step for the security of the devotees and tourists, they said.

The local leaders and intellectuals have been demanding before the administration for the development of the shrine which would give revenue in the future, but that is in vain. “Anti-socials are on the prowl in the area and their activities are on the rise which should be controlled by the administration,” urged Mahant.
