Huge cache of explosives seized from Maoist camp in Rayagada



RAYAGADA: Joint forces of CRPF and Odisha police busted a Maoist camp and seized huge cache of explosives from the camp during a joint operation at Chandrapur police station area in Rayagada district on Tuesday night.

The joint forces seized the Maoist materials including a tiffin bomb, claymore mine, potassium nitrate, detonator, wire and battery from Gadargudi forest. However, no Maoist has been arrested during the operation, while the police are suspecting the hand of Maoist leader Nikhil of Bansadhara division in setting up of the camp in the forest.

According to Bisamkatak SDPO Suresh Chandra Jena, they also seized Maoist materials including uniforms, red banner and explosives from the camp. “The anti-Maoist operation will be intensified in the forest area,” he said.
