SUNABEDA: The academic block of
main campus of the Central University of Orissa (CUO)
at Sunabeda in Koraput district was inaugurated by its Vice Chancellor Prof Dr
Surabhi Banerjee on Monday.
While inaugurating Banerjee said
the campus should be developed into a township which would have health
facilities for the people of the Koraput region in the form of a Medical
College and Hospital. She also
asserted that the campus shall hold new subjects and modern infrastructure
apart from the existing disciplines.
Notably, the only Central
University of the State was
established as one of the 14 new central universities under the Central
University Act, 2009. Among others, Pro-Vice Chancellor of CUO
Prof Y Narsimhulu, Registrar Prof AK Mishra, students and staff were present.
