Mishra accuses an IAS officer for vandalism in his house

BHUBANESWAR: The incident of vandalism by some unidentified miscreants on Wednesday morning in the residence of a Senior IAS officer and Board of Revenue Principal Secretary Sangram Mishra took a new mode. Mishra suspected the hand of a senior IAS officer Prashant Nayak for ransacking his house.

Mishra said that he had lodged an FIR against Nayak in Laxmisagar police station in 2004 for damaging his car knowingly. Previous animosity may be the reason behind the attack, he added.

Mishra’s private security guard Keshab Rout said the miscreants had taken the name of Nayak while returning from the residence. “Our security guard was present during the incident. If he tells the name of Nayak, the police should investigate into the matter,” said Mishra.

Meanwhile, Nayak rubbished the allegation terming it as baseless and false. He is not involved in the case, he said.

Notably, in the wee hours of Wednesday, some persons barged into Mishra’s house and set some household articles on fire while the security guard of the house was alone. The security guard lodged a complaint at the Kharvela Nagar police station. The police started investigations to know the motive behind the incident. No arrest was made as yet.
