Badly beaten Rajasthan boy rescued from city


BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate Police on Saturday rescued an injured boy Manu Lal (13), who was badly beaten up by his employer, from Bapuji Nagar area here. The boy from Bhilwara area of Rajasthan was engaged in selling ice cream in the city.

According to a vendor, Lal’s employer was regularly tortured him. In summer season, Lal was selling good amount of ice-creams, which was reduced in the rainy season and it was the reason behind the anger of the employer. Lal was telling to the other shop owners near his selling space about his torture, the vendor said.

The employer has 10-20 push-carts segregated among the boys for selling ice cream. He used to beat Lal, but on Friday night it was horrible, said a vendor. He has sustained multiple injuries on his left arm and back, he added.

Some vendors called the police to rescue the boy. The police took the boy from the employer’s possession.
