Delay in OJEE medical counselling leaves aspirants in confusion


BHUBANESWAR: More than 2,800 OJEE medical entrance qualified students are in the state of confusion about medical counselling as its date could not be finalised due to seat confusion. Due to delay in the medical counselling, most of the students who are in doubt whether they would get a medical seat or not prefer to make final choice locking in engineering.  

“Still now we could not get any information about medical counselling. We don’t want to miss engineering counseling waiting the medical counselling, because if we later fail to get a seat, it will create problem for us to choose a career. We would have to wait for another year wasting valuable time, therefore I made choice locking in engineering course,” said a medical course aspirant student who filled up form for engineering course.

Some of the students said, if they get a seat in medical later, they would have to bear extra expenditure again to get medical seat. On the other hand, the vacancy which would be created in engineering after the students joining in medical courses, what will be the criteria to fill up the vacancy is a big question.

Still now how many seats in the State could not be finalised by the Medical Council of India (MCI), which has created problem for many medical aspirants in the State. “We would start our process within four to five days for medical counseling after getting the MCI guideline,” said OJEE secretary Priyabrat Sahu.
