One more accused arrested in Salepur BJD leader murder case

CUTTACK: One more accused in the murder of Salepur BJD youth leader Chitta Ranjan Mohanty in Cuttack district was arrested and forwarded to the court by the Crime Branch, police said on Wednesday

He was identified as Sanjay Kandi (25) from Uttarbateswar in the district. Kandi was one of the four-member gang who hurled bomb at Mohanty’s house. Prior to this, the Crime Branch police had arrested the mastermind of the murder Dushmant Das alias Dipu three days back.

It may be noted that Salepur block youth BJD president Mohanty was critically injured when assailants hurled bombs at his house at Rodhpur village on July 18. He died on the way to the hospital. After the incident the State Government handed over the case to the Crime Branch.
