State Govt to beautify Capital Hospital: Health Min

BHUBANESWAR: The State Government would start beautification of the Capital Hospital soon, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Prasanna Acharya here during his surprise visit to the hospital on Wednesday. The Government is also taking steps to appoint adequate staffs and doctors to provide quality service, Acharya said.

Minister Acharya visited different wards of the hospital and witnessed the hospital condition and problems of the patients. He found that women patients lying on the floor in the Gynec ward. He immediately directed the hospital authority to provide beds to the patients within seven days.

Acharya met freedom fighter Laxman Mahapatra, who was shifted to destitute ward in the hospital recently without providing treatment, and inquired about his health condition. He also inquired about the facilities provided by the State Government for the freedom fighters on free treatment and other expenses.

The Minister informed that the bed number in the ICU of the hospital will be increased to 16. For hospital beautification work, the State Government would sanction Rs 2 crore, he added. “With the active guidance of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority, we will start the beautification work and upgradation of the ICU beds in the hospital. Gradually the quality of the hospital is increasing and the process will continue with effort of the State Government,” Acharya said.
