State Govt Counsel’s absence at SC, a matter of shame: Cong

BHUBANESWAR: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Friday criticised the State Government for the negligence in appointing a standing counsel at the Supreme Court and the Apex Court’s reprimand to the State Government in Mesco steel matter.

PCC general secretary Arya Kumar Jnanendra in a Press release said the State Government has become inactive from May 29 and it was an example of that incident. It is unfortunate that the Apex court aggrieved on the State Government and directed to the Law secretary to physically present at the court, he added.

“It is a matter of shame for the people of the State, though it is a common thing for the inactive State Government,” said Jnanendra in the release.
