BHUBANESWAR: Following the Guwahati incident, where a late-night-party-goers group publicly molested and stripped a girl in front of a bar, the Commissionerate Police (Bhubaneswar) became very active and conducted raids on late night party inside the Hotel Hindustan International (HHI) here on the early hours of Sunday.

On a tip-off, the Commissionerate Police conducted a raid on HHI which was organising late night party on Saturday. About 50 party goers, including some foreigners and Ollywood actors, were told to leave the party place. On the other hand, the hotel authority said that it was a routine check up by the police.

“We daily close the hotels before 12 o’clock in the night. On Saturday, the police came and went away after routine check up. The party was over and the party goers were sitting there when the police entered,” said an official of the HHI.

Some intellectuals supported the police raid on late night parties. The late night party goers some times turn violent and indiscipline as a result Guwahati like cases occurs, they added, while the tour operators in the city said the attitude may affect the foreign tourists’ coming to the State at the time of recession.
