447 affected in dengue in State, four die


--dengue affected highest in Ganjam

BHUBANESWAR: The dengue toll in the State has risen to four while the number of people affected by the disease has increased to 447 people, said Health and family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout here on Friday.

Out of the total dengue positive cases in the State, Ganjam is the highest of having 200 affected patients. Among other affected districts, Baleswar has reported 70 positive cases, Angul 57, Bhadrak 17, Jajpur 13 and Khurda 10 were the major affected districts, Health Officials said.

“After the NS1 test of blood samples, it was found that 447 persons affected in dengue disease. One person each in Ganjam and Baleswar and two persons in Dhenkanal were died due to the disease out of total four in the State. We have taken all the measures to control the disease,” said Rout.
