Four students injured in college strike in city

BHUBANESWAR: Four students of a private hotel management college at Jagmara in city were injured in a scuffle between the students and officials of the college management during a strike there protesting the dean of the college. Later, the students lodged an FIR against the dean at the Khandagiri police station here on Tuesday.

According to the students, the dean is imposing heavy fines if someone remains absent in the class. The poor students were facing lot of problems due to autocratic behaves of the dean and students do not come to the class fearing him, they added. They demanded before the college authorities to expel the dean from the college immediately. They also damaged the office during the strike.

On the other hand, the dean of the college denied the allegation. Dean said that the students are opposing him because he didn’t give chance to sit some students in the examination who had less than 75 per cent attendance in the class.
